Convention commission of a City of Heroes character.

With this type of full color commission I normally do the initial pencil and ink sketch at the con, then finish it up at home and send it on to the buyer.

Colored in Photoshop. See [link] for the black and white version.

Awesome! The fire effect around the edges of her hands is a nice touch. Great stuff :D

Ah, City of Heroes. I got that game, but didn't realize there was a monthly fee. I found out when I got home and never got to play it. Which sucks, because making up super heroes is kinda ma thang. :)
Like QuestingRaven said, the fire around the hands is an excellent touch. The way you hid some lines one the hand really a some realism to the fire, because fire does that to objects (I'm a bit of a pyro, so I know ;) ).
She has the classic super heroine skinny but muscular frame, and she doesn't come off as very tall. The heavy boots and gloves say that she is ready for combat, but the push-up corset and slight smile hint at a playful feminine side.
The facial proportion is perfect, as usual, and the lips are done perfectly (at skill that's beyond me). The fire also looks perfect, like something out of a picture!
What did you have for reference? Did the commissioner have a screenshot, or a picture they'd done themselves?

The comment I have just given you is probably WAY too long, and for that I apologize. O.O;;

I've got a blog, its about geeky stuff and I have a short story that I update randomly.

Thanks for all the cool comments. Too bad you never got to play the game, but I know those monthly fees do getcha.

I did have a screenshot to work with for the costume, and of course the web is full of images of things on fire, so I did agoogle search and got a couple of nice pictures of flames too. That always helps.

Very nice! I wish I had Photo Shop so I could do that kind of stuff.
I know this is off topic, but I have a question. I'm looking into buying a tablet, but my income is kind of limited. I've seen a lot of stuff, but they're all from Wacom, and Wacom is a little expensive. Can you recommend a brand that's cheaper but still works well?

Sorry, but Wacoms are all I've ever used. You might try getting a used one though. They're sturdy little things.
